Medals Gala 2026
WELCOME TO THE SWAMP
It's Back - Medals Gala Saturday 6th June 2026
We warmly invite all clubs and swimmers to join us in marking the return of the Garstang Gators Medals Gala. Step into our swamp, celebrate your progress, and make memories that will last long after the medals are awarded. The gala is back, the swamp is ready, and we can’t wait to see you there!
The gala is open to all. For swimmers who have been working hard in training and are ready to chase their very first official time, this is the perfect stage. For seasoned competitors looking to finish the season with a personal best, this gala offers the challenge and atmosphere to make it happen.
Across the programme, swimmers will have the chance to test themselves in 50m and 100m events in each of the four strokes, plus the 200m Individual Medley for those aged 9 and over. Every race is an opportunity to shine, to measure progress, and to enjoy the thrill of competition in a supportive environment.
And because no return to the swamp would be complete without a grand finale, the day will close with the free to enter 4x50m freestyle relay. Clubs will battle for pride, glory, and the coveted Gators Head Trophy; a race that embodies teamwork, camaraderie, and the excitement of relay swimming.

Gator's Head Trophy
The Gators Head Trophy makes its debut in Medals Gala 2026 in a brand‑new 4x50m freestyle relay. FREE to Enter each club will be allowed to race one team, made up of four swimmers: an under‑10, an under‑12, an under‑14, and one open‑age competitor, all of either sex. It’s a true test of depth, teamwork, and spirit.
And because this is the very first time the trophy will rise from the swamp, the stakes couldn’t be higher: to walk away clutching a Gator’s Head is to claim bragging rights, pride, and a piece of history. But beware, once you’ve got the head, the challenge is to keep it, because every club will be hungry to snatch it back next year.
Let's Have Some Fun
We know how boring it can be sat waiting for your race. You’ve warmed up before you have woken up and now you are sat cooling down waiting to put in your best performance. Yes, you can discipline yourself to get out your bands and stretch, but your coach is poolside supporting the team and you are trying to beat your friend on some random game on your phone. Fear not, help is at hand with GA Fitness providing land training warm up sessions every 40 minutes starting at 9.30am.
There is no point in having a fitness trainer attending without providing a sound system to accompany so we have hired DJ Tonez to be playing tunes throughout the day when Land Training is not happening. pass him your requests, shout outs and messages of support and most importantly have some fun.
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE DRY; TRAINERS AND CLOTHING MUST BE WORN FOR DANCING/ LAND TRAINING
